Description

No. 1 Orchard Street is the end house of a terrace, built in the mid-19th century. It features a brick facade with a rendered return and back, topped by an asbestos slate roof. The house has a very shallow depth and stands three stories tall, with three window sashes that include glazing bars. The windows are centered above a well-crafted six-panel door and fanlight, which also has radiating glazing bars. This entrance is framed by a wooden doorcase that includes decorative pilasters and a simple open pediment. The second-floor center window is adorned with stepped voussoirs with keys above it, and there are rusticated stone quoins at the right end, while the brick facade continues to No. 2.
