Description
Nos 3 and 4 Orchard Street are a pair of mid-19th century cottages that form part of a terrace. They are built of brick and feature a slate roof that slopes down at the rear. Each cottage has three storeys, with one window and a door on the front. However, No. 4 also has a blind window above the door on the first floor. The doorways have stepped voussoirs and keys, particularly the door to No. 4. Both cottages have sash windows with glazing bars. The door to No. 4 is a six-panel design with a rectangular fanlight and diagonal glazing bars, topped with a wooden hood that has a moulded edge on brackets. In contrast, No. 3 features a four-panel door with raised mouldings and a rectangular fanlight. At the back, the dwellings reduce to two storeys under the swept roof, with the rear wall constructed of rubble.
