Description

A farmhouse with an attached barn, dating from the mid-17th century, with alterations in the early 19th century. The farmhouse is constructed of random rubble limestone with ashlar chimneys and a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high, with a barn attached to the east end. The north front features a mixed arrangement of windows, including a roughly central, two-storey canted bay window addition with mullioned casements and a hipped roof. There are several two-light mullioned casements with hoodmoulds, two to the left of the bay under two upper floor sash windows; one is blocked and the other has a 12-pane sash. A moulded round arched doorway, with a keystone, imposts and an early plank door, is on the right. Two ridge chimneys are present. The barn projects forward to the left and has west-facing plank barn doors with a timber lintel. An ungazed, loft-level cross window is in the end gable. A single-storey outbuilding connects to the southwest corner. The interior has not been inspected. The property was recorded as the Blue Boy's Inn from 1718 and later became a farmhouse in the 19th century.
