Description
The stables and coach house, located approximately 50 meters north of The Lammas in Minchinhampton, were built in the early 19th century and have undergone later alterations. The structure features random rubble and coursed limestone, with an ashlar chimney and a stone slate roof. It is two stories high and has a long return wing at the west end.
The front of the building has a central section with a parapet, flanked by gables. There is a central three-centred coach archway, which has a lunette recess above that contains a carved stone lion couchant. Small casement windows, mostly leaded, are located on each floor. Each gable has a three-centred coach archway below, with the right archway currently blocked and the left featuring a loft doorway above. At the east end, there is a later garage addition with sliding plank doors. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
