Description

The Nestings and Sundial are probably 17th-century, and were originally a single house, now divided into two cottages. The construction is largely brick, with some internal timber framing. The roof is thatched, featuring a decorative ridge and originally brick ridge and end stacks. An additional external stack has been added to the left end. The main part of the building is a single-range structure with a single storey and attic, and a rear extension, along with a side wing of single storey with a double Roman tile roof. Two dormers with altered 3-light casements are located on either side of the stack. Originally, there was a lobby entry between the dormers on the ground floor, which now has a 20th-century two-light window. Inserted 20th-century doors have been added to either side, while the remaining ground floor windows have timber lintels.
