Description
Nastend Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse, likely built on an earlier foundation, with a substantial 20th-century extension to the east that is not of particular architectural significance. The farmhouse is constructed of brick on a stone plinth, with a tile roof, and features a rebuilt brick chimney stack on the east side. It is a single-range building, two storeys high with an attic. The north front has three windows; the window on the left is blind, while the central and right windows are two-light casements with a cambered head. Two gabled dormers each containing twin casements are visible in the attic. The ground floor has been altered, with a 20th-century casement inserted in the location of the former doorway to the left of the central window, and a single light window positioned between the casements. The current entrance is through a plank door located in a small, single-storey outhouse to the west. The interior was not inspected but is presumed to contain features of interest. Historical records suggest the farmhouse may be one of six dwellings documented in Nastend in 1594.
