Description
The barn at Nastend Court is a small structure that was originally part of the original Nastend Court, now known as Nastend House, and currently belongs to a new house of the same name. It likely dates from the mid-18th century, although it may incorporate older materials. The barn is constructed of brick on a partial tall coursed stone base and features a stone slate roof with coped gable ends and kneelers. The south gable end has a triangular pattern of openings for dove holes. On the east side, there are central double timber doors for cart entry, which are now closed off. The west side has a low entry that is also flush and features a cambered relieving arch above recessed double timber doors. This side is flanked by small single square lights with wooden frames and possibly original plank shutters on the left, along with cambered head doorways at the outer edges that have plank doors and cambered head pierced brick panels above.
