Description
Church Court Cottage and Church End, located in Frampton-on-Severn, are former farmhouse and outbuildings that have been converted into two cottages. Church Court Cottage, which was likely built in the early 17th century, features partial square panel timber-framing with rendered infill at the front, a concrete tile roof, and a brick ridge stack. The rear includes some tiled roofing, while the end section of the long rear wing is made of painted brick with a pantile roof. The structure is a single range with two rear wings, one storey and an attic, and probably follows a cross passage plan. It has three large gabled dormers with three-light casements set evenly along the eaves, along with a two-light casement and vents below. To the left of the stack is a plank door, which is sheltered by a wide 19th-century gabled porch.
Church End, dating from the late 17th to early 18th century, is constructed of brick on a slag plinth and has a concrete tile roof with coped verges and kneelers. This two-storey structure, which also has an attic, is attached to Church Court Cottage on the southeast and features a lean-to addition on the north side. The front gable end has wide two-light casements with cambered heads on the first floor and attic, along with a 20th-century door and porch below. The elevation facing Church Court Cottage includes one three-light window on each floor. Inside, the property contains chamfered and stopped beams. Church Court Cottage may have originally included crucks, which are no longer visible.
