Description

A terrace of six houses, now flats, was built around 1820 and altered in the late 20th century. The houses are constructed of stuccoed brick with slate roofs, incorporating 20th-century roof lights, and have brick stacks on the party walls, which were reduced in the late 20th century. They are arranged in a double-depth block with rear wings, and have later 20th-century additions at the rear. The front of the terrace is set back from the street, with small gardens and basement areas in front.

The three-storey houses have semi-basements and attics. The front elevation features a continuous raised band with a running moulding at the first- and second-floor sill levels, a moulded crowning cornice, and a coped parapet. Each house has a ground-floor entrance approached by stone steps with wrought-iron balustrades. Doorways have semicircular arched heads with fanlights; the fanlight at No. 21 retains original decorative metalwork, while the doorway to No. 22 is framed by panelled pilasters and console brackets supporting a flat canopy. To the left of each doorway, there is a sash window with 4x4 panes. Above this, on the first floor, are two sashes with 3x4 panes, and on the second floor, two shorter sashes with 3x4 panes, all with projecting stone sills. The basement windows have mostly been renewed in the 20th century. Decorative wrought iron bow-fronted window guards are present on the first-floor sashes. The interior was not inspected.
