Description

Nos. 6, 8, and 10 St Catherine Street is a range of three shops and former dwellings, likely built in the late 16th century or early 17th century, with various later alterations. The building features a roughcast exterior on a brick and timber frame, topped with a tile roof and a roof dormer. It is situated between the Coach and Horses Inn and No. 12 St Catherine Street.

The building is two storeys high. The front of Nos. 6 and 8 has an offset plinth painted black, and at the first-floor level, there is a timber beam or plank also painted black, along with a continuous eaves gutter. On the ground floor of Nos. 6 and 8, there are similar doorways with flush timber door frames and 19th-century doors that have glazed upper panels. Between the doorways, there are two two-light, stone-framed and mullioned windows, with leadlight glazing in the window of No. 8. On the first floor, No. 6 features a 20th-century three-light casement, while No. 8 has a 19th-century three-light casement, both set in similar openings. The front of No. 10 has a 20th-century shop front with windows that include glazing bars, and on the first floor, there is a 19th-century two-light casement. The interior has not been inspected.
