Description

74 and 76 Worcester Street are a pair of semi-detached houses built in 1825. They are constructed of brick with stone details, featuring slate roofs and brick stacks. The houses are designed in a double-depth layout with rear wings.

The exterior comprises three storeys and basements. The front of No. 76 includes a stone string course at the first-floor sill level, topped by a continuous stone-coped parapet. Each house has a doorway on the right side of the ground floor, which features a rectangular fanlight, and a large sash window on the left. No. 74 has a sash window with four by four panes, while No. 76 has a sash window with three by four panes. On the first floor, both houses have two sashes with glazing bars, each with three by four panes. On the second floor, No. 74 has two sashes with three by three panes, while No. 76 has two sashes with three by four panes. The doorway and all the sashes in No. 74 are set in openings with rubbed brick flat arches, while the doorway and all the sashes in No. 76 are set in openings with flat arches made of five raised-and-stepped voussoirs.

The interior has not been inspected. These houses are a complete early 19th-century semi-detached pair and are part of a group of buildings from this period on Worcester Street.
