Description
This milestone, dating from the 19th century, is located on the east side of the B4228 in Tidenham Chase. It is made of stone and measures approximately 600 mm high, 300 mm wide, and 300 mm deep, featuring a rounded top. The milestone is partially sunk into the roadside and has an inscription that reads 'To Chepstow ....', with the remainder concealed, but it is believed to indicate '4 miles'. The milestone is situated about 175 metres south of the Church of St Michael in Tidenham Chase, which is not listed, and is on the opposite side of the road. This stone is not recorded on the 1:10,000 ordnance sheet.
