Description
The boundary wall, portico, piers, and gates to Stroat House are located along the east side of the A48 road in Tidenham. The structure features rusticated limestone for the portico and sandstone rubble with flat sandstone coping. The squared sandstone piers support iron gates. The boundary wall stands approximately 3 metres high and includes a wide Doric portico with a flat-topped entablature and rusticated pilasters at the entrance to Stroat House. The central section is filled with stonework and has a standard plank door beneath voussoirs. The wall curves to the left, leading to a pair of piers topped with square ogee cappings and a pair of iron gates. Beyond this, the wall is lower and lacks coping. To the right, the wall extends to another pair of square sandstone piers with flat capping over moulding, opposite the entry to the coach house, which features 20th-century wooden gates. These walls are significant to the overall setting, situated along a busy main road.
