Description
The monument to John Morse is located in the churchyard, approximately 10 metres south of the choir vestry of the Church of St Mary. This late 18th-century chest tomb is made of sandstone and features an upright structure with a tent-like pyramid top that has a moulded edge. The tomb has bolstered ends and fielded panels on the north and south sides, along with a moulded base set on a large flat platform. An inscription commemorating John Morse dates to 1796. At the time of the survey in September 1983, the tomb was covered in ivy.
