Description

The monument to Thomas Stephens is an 18th-century upright chest tomb located approximately 7 meters south of the tower of the Church of St Mary. It is made of sandstone and features a flat top with inset corners, a moulded edge, bolstered ends, and a fielded rectangular panel on the north side. The tomb has a moulded base and rests on a flat plinth. The inscription commemorates Thomas Stephens, who died in 1795. The design of this monument is very similar to that of the monument to Charles Cauls.
