Description

The Clock Tower, built in 1875, is a Grade II listed structure located on the west side of High Street in Newnham. This tall, slim tower features a Florentine style, characterized by its battered base section and a clock section that includes machicolations and crenellations. Above this, there is a viewing gallery topped with a small turret adorned with gargoyles, crenellation, and a conical roof with a ball finial. The tower was renovated and the clock was renewed in 1956. It stands prominently at the junction of High Street, Lower High Street, and Station Road.
