Description
No 1 Mornington Terrace is a dwelling dating from the 17th century, with 18th-century window features. The building has a rough render exterior and a plain tile roof, with a gable facing the street. It was originally part of a larger L-shaped house, with a front block added at the street and a return wing that is now subdivided. The structure has three storeys and features one window with sashes that include glazing bars. The entrance consists of a six-panel door, of which four panels are now glazed, situated to the left of the gabled front, and is topped by a three-pane transom light within a moulded architrave. Inside, there is a newel stair that runs through all levels within a stone well. The outer walls are 650-700 mm thick. Additionally, there is an early 18th-century three-light casement window in the back wall and a large stack on the ridge near the back of the dwelling.
