Description

The Club, formerly known as the Town Hall, was built around 1850. It is constructed of rendered brick and features a hipped roof made of Welsh slate. This large, free-standing building has a parapet, with the central section slightly set forward and recent extensions at the rear. It is two storeys high and has five windows, which are sashes, some of which include glazing bars, all set within moulded architraves. The entrance is recessed and features three-panelled double doors, flanked by small sash windows in side-lights. The façade is accentuated by two Doric columns in antis, topped with a plain architrave and cornice. The building is included in the heritage listing primarily for its former significance as a Town Hall. The Victoria County History notes that it was built in 1849.
