Description
The Mansion House is a 17th-century dwelling located on the east side of High Street in Newnham. The building features a rendered and ashlared facade that extends to a parapet, topped with a plain tile roof. It has a very wide frontage and includes a back extension. The property is two storeys high and has three widely spaced windows. On the ground floor, there is a new recessed bay, a small two-light casement window with glazing bars, and a three-light sash window also with glazing bars. The first floor contains two two-light casement windows with bars and one three-light sash window with glazing bars, along with a small dormer on the right side. The entrance features an eight-panel door set within a moulded architrave, topped by a 19th-century chinoiserie umbrella hood supported by light decorative wrought-iron brackets.
