Description

The monument to John Bowyer is a chest tomb located in the churchyard approximately 12 meters south of the tower of the Church of St Mary. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of sandstone. The tomb features a flat top with a moulded edge, quarter balusters, fielded panels, and a moulded base. The earliest legible inscription is dedicated to John Bowyer and dates to 1827; however, the inscription on the south side is obscured by another memorial. At the time of the survey in September 1983, the monument was leaning towards the north.
