Description
The monument to Morse is located in the churchyard about 9 metres south of the southeast corner of the choir vestry of the Church of St Mary. This late 18th century or early 19th century pedestal tomb is made of sandstone and features a square shape with an ogee profile domed top, which currently lacks a terminal urn. The tomb has inset corners and a moulded edge above a fluted frieze adorned with rosettes. It also includes raised panels with a moulded edge, a moulded base on a plinth, and a curb that retains some remains of spear-head iron railings, primarily on the north and east sides. Although no date is legible, the inscription includes the name Morse.
