Description
Rockwood is a detached villa built in 1820. It features mainly smooth rendered walls with some painted rubble on the road elevation and a low-pitched hipped roof made of Welsh slate. The building has a compact front block but a complex overall form with various wings. It is two storeys high and has a 2+3-window arrangement with arched glazing bar sashes, two three-light bow windows, and a central six-panel part-glazed door topped by two small arched lights under a fanlight. There is a 20th-century glazed porch and a 19th-century verandah, which now has an asbestos-cement roof supported by five decorative iron standards. On the right side at the first floor, there are two small arched lights and one light similar to the front, all set in brick arches. The interior retains original shutters, although the plan and layout have been modified.
