Description
Willsbury Lodge is an early 19th-century lodge with an elongated octagonal shape and a central stack, located in St Briavels. The building is rendered and has an asbestos-cement slate roof. It stands two storeys high and features a string course at the first floor. At the four forward angles of the octagon, there are attached responds or pilasters topped with pyramid finials at the first floor level. Each face of the lodge has one window, which consists of a single light with a cinquefoil head and a transom in a chamfered surround. Below this, there is a two-light window with a similar design, including a stopped drip. The central entrance is a plank door set within a 4-centre head, featuring Y-tracery and a moulded stopped drip above. The ground floor room is also octagonal. A 20th-century wing has been added to the lodge, but it is not included in the listing.
