Description

The monument to Taylor is a chest tomb located in the churchyard approximately 17 metres south of the south-west corner of the south aisle of the Church of St Mary. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of sandstone. The tomb features a flat inscribed top with a moulded edge and rectangular fielded panels. At the time of the survey in September 1983, the base was sunk into the ground. The inscriptions are partly legible, with the earliest date noted as 1758 and another date on top as 1774.
