Description

This is an unidentified chest tomb located in the churchyard about 1.5 metres east of the east wall of the chancel of the Church of St Mary. It is probably from the late 17th century and is made of sandstone. The tomb features a thick flat top with a cyma mould edge, although its faces are badly eroded and the base was found to be sunk at the time of the survey in September 1983. This monument is part of a group of five tombs situated immediately east of the chancel wall and is paired with a similar unidentified monument directly to its east.
