Description
The monument to Margerye North is located in the churchyard about 22 metres north-east of the north-east corner of the chancel of the Church of St Mary. This chest tomb dates from the early 17th century and is made of sandstone. It features a very thick flat top with a shallow cavetto moulding along the edge. The panel faces are very badly worn, but some parts of the inscription are still legible, including the name Margerye North and the date 1633. Despite its erosion, this monument is considered one of the more important memorials in this historically rich churchyard.
