Description
This is an unidentified monument located in the churchyard approximately 13 metres southeast of the southeast corner of the south aisle of the Church of St Mary. It is a pedestal tomb dating from the mid-18th century, made of sandstone. The tomb is square with an undulating pyramid top featuring a moulded edge and a fluted frieze. It has an oval raised panel on the north side and a sunk moulded panel on the west, all resting on a moulded base. At the time of the survey in September 1983, the inscriptions were not legible, and there was some overgrowth of ivy. The design reflects the style of the mid-18th century.
