Description

The monument to John Morse is located in the churchyard, approximately 10 metres south of the south window in the chancel of the Church of St Mary. This late 18th-century pedestal tomb is made of sandstone and features a tent-like top with a moulded edge and large bolstered ends. The north and south sides have fielded panels that display very fine lettering for the inscriptions. The monument also has a moulded base and commemorates John Morse, who passed away in 1796.
