Description
This is an unidentified chest tomb located about 3 meters east of the east wall of the chancel of the Church of St Mary. It is probably from the 17th century and is made of sandstone. The tomb features a large chest with a flat top that has a moulded edge and a deep pulvinated frieze. The ends are intricately carved in high relief, including an anthemion design, while the north and south sides each have two elliptical raised moulding panels. Although the inscriptions are not legible, it is likely from the late 17th century. This tomb is one of a group of five tombs situated immediately east of the chancel wall.
