Description
Tutshill Lodge is a Regency villa dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stucco, which has been painted, and sits on the Tidenham Beachley Road in Tutshill. The building features a blind arcade with flat arches and Doric flat pilasters, paired to the central bay, all resting on a plinth, and topped by a moulded eaves cornice. It has a low-pitched hipped roof covered in Welsh slate, with small end stacks. The front facade has three windows, with 12-pane over 16-pane sash windows. The central bay contains a pair of 3-panel doors, partially glazed, with a transom light featuring a fluted frame. A glazed bow window with a hood and 16-pane sash is located on the right return. A verandah originally present on the front has been removed. The interior retains an original stick baluster staircase with a swept handrail, along with original doors and shutters. Despite the loss of the verandah, the building remains an elegant example of Regency architecture.
