Description
The monument to Richard Jenkins is an upright chest tomb located in the churchyard approximately 16 metres south of the east chancel wall of the Church of St Mary and St Peter. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of sandstone. The tomb features a flat pyramidal weathered top, quarter balusters, and drafted panels, with a high base that was overgrown with ivy at the time of the survey in December 1983. It is set on a platform and has the earliest legible inscription to Richard Palmer Jenkins, dated 1826. This monument is part of a group of three monuments that step down the slope.
