Description

ADLESTROP ADLESTROP VILLAGE SP 22 NW 4/15 Unidentified monument in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene c8m east of east end of chancel GV II Unidentified chest tomb orientated north-south. C17. Limestone. South end and east side upstanding. South end with raised margin, cartouche at centre surrounded foliate decoration, heads of winged cherubs in lower right and left-hand corners. East side divided into 3 panels with raised margins. Central panel comprises cartouche flanked by two cherubs and foliate decoration. All decoration in relief. Remainder of tomb in a state of collapse. Tomb unusual for its ornateness and orientation.
