Description
This is an unidentified chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, approximately 8 metres east of the east end of the chancel. It dates from the 17th century and is made of limestone. The tomb is oriented north-south, with the south end and east side still standing. The south end features a raised margin and a central cartouche surrounded by foliate decoration, with the heads of winged cherubs in the lower right and left corners. The east side is divided into three panels, each with raised margins. The central panel includes a cartouche flanked by two cherubs and additional foliate decoration, all in relief. The rest of the tomb is in a state of collapse. This tomb is notable for its ornate design and unusual orientation.
