Probably originally one house; now two with dental surgery (No.56). Early C19. Coursed squared limestone; stone slate hipped roof, Welsh slate to rear and on rear extension and rear wing. 2 brick axial stacks to rear on stone gablets; brick ridge stack on rear wing. 3-storey 3-window range. First floor has three 6/6-pane horned sashes in plain reveals with stone cills; 3 similar 3/6-pane sashes above. Ground floor has C20 plate glass window in plain reveal with projecting stone cill to left (No.58), late C20 plate glass shop front to right (No.56). 6-panel door with single-pane overlight in plain reveal to centre (No.56); 6-panel door with upper 2 panels glazed under decorative fanlight in round-headed plain opening in single-storey lean-to extension to left (No.58). Shallow plinth; flush quoins to left angle. 2-storey extension and 2-storey gabled wing to rear. INTERIOR not inspected.
