Description
No 3 West Street is a house in a row, likely built as an extension to No 1 (The Surgery) in the early 19th century. The front is constructed of coursed ham stone rubble, while the rear is made of ashlar. The front roof slope is covered with plain clay tiles, and the rear has a hipped Welsh slate roof, topped with a stone chimney stack. This single-storey building has a road elevation featuring two bays. It has a plinth and angled bay windows with 4+12+4 pane sashes that have lead flat roofs. Between the bay windows is a recessed doorway with a semi-circular arch, featuring a 6-panel door beneath a decorative radial-glazed fanlight. The recess includes timber panelling on the jambs and head, along with timber architraves and imposts. The rear elevation showcases a segmental bow with a cornice string and parapet, which includes 12-pane sash windows in stone architraves. The interior has not been seen.
