Description
The Ludlow memorial is a chest tomb located about 8 meters east of the north-west path, 21 meters from the path crossing in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary. It commemorates the Ludlow family and dates from the mid to late 18th century. The tomb is made of limestone and features a flat top with a tall moulded plinth on a double-stepped large base that is breaking up. It has moulded capping with indented corners. The end panels display an egg and dart frieze and the remains of a cartouche on the east side, along with an applied bronze plaque on the west side, which mentions Eleanor Ludlow, who died in 1804, as the earliest date. The long sides of the tomb have large recessed rectangular panels with egg and dart moulding. The south side has an indecipherable inscription, while the north side has plain moulding with an obliterated inscription.
