Description
The stable and adjoining former barn at the Old Manor Farmhouse is an early 18th-century structure that has been converted into a garage. It is built from rubble stone and features a stone slate roof that is hipped over the stable. The building is L-shaped and consists of two storeys. The long stable range runs north to south and has raking end buttresses on the east side, along with a stepped buttress at the south corner on the west side.
On the upper floor of the east wall, there are two windows with 2-light wood mullions, which still have their internal plank shutters on the left and iron stanchions on the right, both complemented by additional external slats. At the north end, there is a six-panel door with a plank loft door above it. Inside, the stable retains a wooden feeding rack along the east wall, which can be accessed from the loft, as well as a wooden manger below. The floor is made of stone and features a gully, with one stall located at the south end. Access to the loft is via 12 stone steps on the west side, and there is an additional plank door on the ground floor to the left of the steps. The interior has six bays supported by collar and tie beams with struts to the principals.
The projecting wing of the L shape has large 20th-century sliding doors on the south side and two raking buttresses on the north side. The interior has been mostly altered, with an inserted ceiling.
