4/56 Unidentified memorial, about llm east of porch level with outer entrance in churchyard of Church of St. Nicholas

GV II

Altar tomb. Late C18, earliest decipherable date 1787. Limestone. Rectangular, moulded plinth on base, tall central structure, moulded capping carrying large rectangular slab with separate moulded side pieces to east and west and with gadrooned rectangular "finial". Oval panels to east and west with rosettes in spandrels. To north and south fielded rectangular panels with carved moulding. Inscriptions indecipherable and partially overgrown at time of survey (August 1984).
