Coach House To North Of Stable Block At Cherington Park

The coach house located to the north of the stable block at Cherington Park is a large structure built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features a rubble stone exterior faced in ashlar on the front and sides, topped with a double hipped roof made of Cotswold stone slate. The building is single storey with a loft and has three large, slightly flattened arches; the two side arches are blocked in, all resting on impost blocks and highlighted by prominent keystones. The entrance is through the central arch, flanked by six-panel doors with radial fanlights leading into blocked bays on either side. A small lateral stone chimney stack is located in the southeast corner. The west side has various windows, including a large lunette on the ground floor and two circular windows at the attic level. There are vaulted chambers at the rear, on the north side, which include two blocked openings with stone architraves positioned about one meter above the ground. The east facade is symmetrical, featuring two large lunettes in the center (with the right one blocked), segmental headed windows on each side, and three circular windows above, with the central one being larger.
