Description
The Fowles Memorial is an altar tomb located about 3 meters northeast of the porch in the churchyard of the Church of St. Nicholas. It dates from the early 19th century, with the earliest decipherable date being 1864. The memorial is made of limestone and features a rectangular flat top, supported by a tall moulded plinth on a large stone base. The central structure is tall and has a moulded capping. The east and west end panels are oval with elaborately carved edges, spandrels, and side returns, topped with a moulded fillet. The south and north sides have plain rectangular panels with a twisted edge.
