Description

Yew Tree Cottage is a detached house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of random coursed rubble stone, with a stone slate roof to the main part and right wing, and asbestos slates to the lower part of the rear roof. The house has stone end stacks, with the left-hand stack partially external and featuring a shallow, curved, coursed stone design with two offsets. The main range is three storeys high, with a rear addition creating a catslide roofline and a single-storey wing set back on the right, forming an L-shape. The front façade is symmetrical, with two windows, featuring restored two-light wood casements with timber lintels on the ground and first floors, and a central plank door leading to a small raking porch. The second floor has a central three-light window with a segmental head. The wing to the right has two small two-light casements with timber lintels.
