Description
The Masons Arms is an inn and adjoining house, likely built in the late 17th century or early 18th century, with the adjoining house being slightly later. Both structures were probably restored in the early 20th century. The building is constructed from random coursed rubble stone, featuring quoins on the left side of the inn, and has a stone slate roof with stone end stacks, partly external on the left.
The building has staggered single ranges, with a brick extension at the rear of the house. It is two storeys high. The inn, located on the left, has four windows: three in the original section and one at a higher level in the additional section that is slightly angled back from the main wall. All windows are 2-light stone mullions with flush stone frames and leaded metal casements. The ground floor of the inn has been altered on the left side, featuring a 5-light stone mullion window below a plat band, a 2-light window to the right similar to those on the first floor, and a nearly central door from the 20th century.
The house, which is set back, has three windows: one 3-light and two 2-light, all in the same style as the left-hand range. The ground floor of the house includes a 2-light stone mullion window with a square hoodmould to the right of a central glazed door from the 20th century, which has a timber lintel, and double full-length windows from the 20th century to the left of the door.
