Description
The Dadge Monument is a chest tomb located about 5 meters west of the west end in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Kempsford. It commemorates James Dadge, who died in 1815. The tomb is made of limestone and features a moulded plinth and capping, along with a deep plain frieze. The ends of the tomb are fielded, and the side panels are recessed between two fluted pilasters that have circular moulding in the capitals. The monument is topped with a curved tent shape that includes additional roll moulding near the top.
