Description
Lady Maud's Walk is a historic river walkway located in the garden of The Vicarage in Kempsford Village. It is believed to date back to the 13th century, originally part of a manor house, and was converted around 1630 into a riverside terrace approximately 80 meters long. The remaining section includes the east side, featuring about 40 meters of walkway with a coped wall of varying heights and approximately four large stone steps. At the southeast corner, there is a ruined pavilion that includes the frame of a four-light mullion and transom stone window with a king mullion. This terrace is depicted in Kip's engraving of Kempsford from 1700.
