Description
Heron's Mead and Somerford House is a pair of former houses that date back to the late 17th century and were restored in the 19th century. The buildings are constructed of random coursed rubble stone and feature a Cotswold stone slate roof with three stone stacks. They are arranged in a double range with two cross gables, standing two storeys tall with an attic.
The front elevation includes two windows with two-light stone mullion casements that are set under hood moulds, which have been restored. There is also a single small light in the attic gables. On the ground floor, there are three windows, with the central single light being the original doorway that is now partially blocked. Somerford House, located to the left, has two extensions of different dates, one of which is a very recent 20th-century addition that matches the style and materials of the original building. Heron's Mead also features a side extension, and the entrances to both houses are located at the sides.
