Description

This is a group of three cottages forming a single building, dating to the mid-17th century. The cottages are constructed of rubble stone, with some areas faced in roughcast rendering. They have roofs covered in Cotswold stone slates, with two gables and a central ridge stack, as well as gable stacks at each end of the front facade. The cottages are two storeys high, with an attic. There are six windows in total, with two-light stone mullions, some featuring square hood moulds. Each gable has a single mullioned window in the attic. Alterations have been made to the ground floor, including the addition of a gabled porch to number 18, and a renewed three-light stone mullion window to number 16. Number 14 retains a more original facade and a higher roof line, suggesting it may have originally been a separate building. Local tradition states the cottages were formerly an almshouse.
