Description

Chapel Cottage is a detached cottage, originally two cottages, dating to the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone with a stone slate and slate roof, and has brick and artificial stone stacks. The building has a rectangular plan, with a lean-to addition at the left gable end. A small 20th-century extension projects forward on the front right. A greenhouse at the right gable is not of particular significance. The two-storey front façade has a two-window arrangement, with 2 and 3-light stone mullioned casement windows. There are also two 2-light 20th-century wood casements, most windows featuring horizontal glazing bars. A 19th-century plank door is located on the former left-hand cottage side, with a 19th-century plank door within the lean-to on the left. There is a gable end and axial stack. The interior was not inspected.
