Description
Foxcote Manor is a manor house dating to the late 17th century, with 20th-century additions. It is laid out in an 'L' shape, with a 20th-century wing projecting forward to the right and a later 20th-century wing projecting forward to the left of the original central range. The main facade is symmetrical and displays two-and-a-half stories. The window arrangement is a 1:5:1 pattern, featuring hollow-moulded, double-chamfered cross windows. Dormers with slate hanging and two lights are located on the upper floor. Continuous hoods extend over the ground and first floor windows and continue over the projecting wings. A five-light stone-mullion casement is situated in the ground floor of the left gable end, with a central king mullion. The first floor of the same gable end features a five-light stone-mullion casement with king mullions on either side of the centre. The right-hand gable has the same fenestration, with a four-light stone-mullioned casement towards the apex, incorporating a central king mullion. A central, gabled 20th-century porch projects forward, with a panelled and studded door and a two-light stone-mullioned window above. The roof of the original 17th-century range is hipped. Axial stacks are present with moulded cappings. The gables have moulded coping and ball finials, along with moulded kneelers. The interior is inaccessible but likely contains a 17th-century staircase with turned balusters.
