Description

This is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary, approximately 6 metres south-west of the John Patten monument. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of limestone. The south side features a pair of inscriptions dedicated to Henry and Catherine, his wife, both written in fine italic script. There are partially legible inscriptions at the east and west ends, while the north side has paired inscription panels that are blank. The tomb is topped with a thick capping that has a moulded margin.
