Description

BARRINGTON GREAT BARRINGTON VILLAGE SP 2013-2113 10/38 Pair of monuments in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary c4m north of the north door GV II Pair of chest tombs. Chest tomb nearest the north door to John Patten, son of Robert and Joan Patten, died 1783, and Joan, his wife, died 1784. Inscription on the south side to Robert Patten, died 1749. Limestone with sandstone inscription plaque on the north side with a fine foliate scrollwork margin, and fluted marginal panels. Capping with moulded margin. Chest tomb c2m to the south. Late C18-early C19. Limestone. Inscriptions obscured by foliage. Capping with moulded margin and hipped upper capping. Cast iron railing.
