Description
This barn, located approximately 80 meters south-west of Porter's Farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, featuring dressed stone quoins and a concrete tile roof. The barn has a rectangular plan with a throughway for wagons at the south gable end. There are double doors on runners to the right and a similar-sized doorway on the opposite wall. Small ventilation slits are present in the side walls and near the apex of the gable ends, along with a tall pitching window facing the throughway. Inside, the barn has four bays, including the throughway, and retains original collar and tie beams with curved collars and double butt purlins. This building is noted for its unusual plan type.
